In the introduction the work, Descartes authorized it as a faithful Latin translation of Discourse on the Method, which was originally published in French in 1637. The Latin version, however, reached a much wider audience and remained an influential title until the 19th century. It contains the famous phrase'cogito ergo sum':'I think, therefore I am'. The Elzeviers were the first to publish the Latin editions of all of Descartes' works UR - http://ezplib.ukm.my/login?url=http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/book/9781493304028 ER -
