Bafflin Island in Canada is the fifth largest island in the world. For six months each year the ocean in this cold region is frozen over with ice 1-3 meters thick. Only accessible during a short thaw, this area can be extremely treacherous as huge sections of ice break apart and crash together in spectacular fashion. Partnered with a native Inuit guide, explorers travel by dogsled and snowmobiles sixty dangerous miles up the frozen ocean to the Floe Edge - a dynamic magnet for wildlife where the ice breaks free.
